Appreciation
"The deepest longing in the human breast is the desire for appreciation." (William James).
Appeasement is merely a manner of
Placating someone. Does it show love?
People need the sunshine of kind words we bestow.
Really feeling valued helps a soul to glow -
Even for those who might not say it’s so!
Constant criticism does no one any good.
Instead, we should love as Jesus would.
A hug; a complement; there are many kind deeds we can do.
Thoughtfulness (remember this) is meant for strangers too.
Inside each of us is the child with his or her
Own special wants, but we’re still the same beneath the skin -
Needing acknowledgment; this feeling we feel deep from within.
