I am telling myself that retirement is not the end of the road, but rather the beginning of a reinvention of some sort to become a new version of myself. I have always rushed to get things done, but now I will have time to be curious about other things in life.

Listen to that small, gentle voice in your soul, too many listen to the noise of the world instead of the voice of the Holy Spirit that was sent to us. Deep inside you know what is true, let no one decide that for you.
If the voice changes to thunder, drop everything and listen.

The skies in Oregon before this Easter are cloudy, rainy and stormy. Like the storms in our lives they pass, the sun comes out, and we have been washed clean and there is a sense of peace. Ever storm eventually passes—with faith, hope and patience, we find a lesson.

What would the world be like if there was peace in our minds, bodies, minds and souls. Imagine a world without stress, grief, or sorrow in each others lives. People could have a positive and forgiving attitude towards one another… there would be no hate.

I think there are those who do not have a compass in life, they wander aimlessly trying to fill a void they do not know how to fill, so they reach out filling that void based on the direction of the majority who are just as lost.

Lives are filled with lessons, hardships, heartaches, joys, celebrations, and special moments that lead to some sort of destination, a purpose in life. My journey was not always smooth, it was full of challenges; Some of these challenges were tests of courage, strengths, weaknesses, and what we believe is important in life.

We have been told to let the light within us shine. God transforms one's soul, each with different gifts and abilities. All we need to do is say here I am Lord. When you live a life based on the light that's within you, it’s impossible for darkness to extinguish that light. If one considers the flashlight that goes dim and needs new batteries to give it new life. Your light shines because your prayers connect you to a power source which is Heavenly.

Having peace is the inner calmness when things become still without worry or troubleness. It allows one to look at things from a different light allowing us to see things more clearly...it's a process of learning how to live and appreciate the present, understanding that each day is a blessing turning everything we have into enough.
