Notes About The Poem

The Blue Moon on the West Coast was one of the forest fires creating a surrealistic landscape at times. A few lost their lives to save the property and the lives of others...they are to be remembered.

Blue Moon

This is the year of the sheep and the end of July
The moon is big, beautiful, and high in the sky

This summer breeze tonight is hot and blowing
Our moon above, a guiding light and it's glowing

Harvest time can make our moon seem aurous
The fires in the forest make that color dangerous

We had a visit twice this month so who had a clue
This moon high over us is feeling lonely and blue
