Notes About The Poem

Within Philippians

I am looking at the perils of retirement.
Retirement will not be the end of the road.

The road now leads to a new beginning.
A beginning of a rebirth of some kind.

Some kind of a new version of myself.
For myself, I have a tendency to rush to finish tasks.

My tasks now can focus on other areas of my life.
Life is giving me a chance not to be anxious about anything.

Anything and everything I wake up to will be a present.
A present from the Lord, because he hears my prayers.

Prayers give me peace that safeguards my heart.
My heart and mind belong to Christ Jesus.

Wonderful poem. The last two lines are great. Retirement is definitely different but you will sort things out and make it work because you rely on God. From experience
