Notes About The Poem

My Love

As my body grows
frail and weak
I may struggle
to lift my head
from a sleep
but don’t cry for me
hold my hand
talk to me

We had so many
years together
remember those times
the times when you smiled

We have had
many blessings
in this life
a life with you
a life with those
we called friends

I have no regrets
I understand
you may be sad
but our love
our friendship
stood the test
we had many
beautiful years
there will be a time
from your arms
to my father’s arms
I will go

Remember to keep
the Lord in your heart
in that way
we will be
together
he lives in my heart
the Holy Spirit
will guide you now

I love you baby
smiles for you

Your Husband
