Notes About The Poem

Looking For Happiness

I am looking carefully at all the poems I have written.
Wonder what has happened that I must have been bitten.

All of my favorite past poems I am accessing.
Many of them sure seem a little depressing.

I love my family, home and beautiful wife.
I have been really blessed in this life.

I have written enough poetry to now reflect.
Pondering again why there is sadness I detect.

My wish is to solve problems in any relationship.
To have the softening of hearts and to get a grip.

My wish for others in this world would be to open their arms.
Embracing those who bring the best out of you brings no harm.

There is so much need for all of us to love one another in this land.
Moments of your time can be life-changing and this would be grand.

Ed, I think your poems are about life and within life there is sadness and happiness, I see it in your words, this poem for the contest is wonderfully penned, 7, I myself feel my sorrow has made me the poet I am, without the pain I am not sure I could reach that deep into my soul and thanks for visiting my poem, I play my part, well

Life is a collection of moments, and we all pull from those resources we have within. Hopefully we do not have to experience the same thing more than once. Thank you for sharing who you are when you write :)
