Born in New Orleans, I grew up in Tucumcari, NM, where my dad was a surgeon. I loved living in a small, friendly town of 12,000. I went to Stephens College, in Missouri, my first year, then transferred to Univ. of NM. I changed majors from music to business, became engaged, married, moved to Carlsbad, another friendly town, and had three wonderful sons. We moved to Las Cruces, NM, so my husband could attend NMSU. I've had a varied life as student, which I will always be, a mother, a secretary at White Sands Missile Range, a researcher, a writer, an artist, a bridge player and manager, a caregiver of my second husband, and finally, a writer of poems. During most of this time, I wrote very little poetry. I have no awards or published books, only my love of poetry. I know little about poetry forms, but am trying to learn! I love people, animals, nature, and everything mysterious. I am an activist, through my poetry, for those living on our beautiful Earth, and the Earth herself. Thank you, Poetry Soup, for all you do for poetry!
