In the enchantment of springtime
I think of a long-ago place
where honeysuckle wildly climbed
midst delicate, white Queen Anne's lace.
Days were young and golden were we
like wildflowers, in tangled hues
we ran with breeze, laughing and free
and made our world of dreams come true
in spring's mystic, daydreams are spun
of happiness and childhood's play
memories seen in today's sun
bring a longing for yesterday
Though roses fade and seasons flow,
Childhood remains our bright tableau
