for "You're A Flower in My Garden 8 to 12 lines poetry contest"

by Tania Kitchin

When a seedling, handsome wind caught my eye and together we flew with the birds Then, suddenly, I tumbled from the sky found myself in a land of rows in thirds. Other seedlings lived there and asked my name Bashfully, I answered, "I don't know it!” Then you're undoubtedly a weed—for shame! I just knew I would never outgrow it one day, wearing silk petals, I awoke like magic,, I was lovely. quite fancy The queen I became by masterful stroke and I'm now known by the name of Pansy

I love how imaginatively you told the tale of your origin, and so cool how you rhymed pansy with fancy. Great job

Thank you, Andrea! I've never been able to grow pansies outside because of the heat even in the shade.

What a sweet tender story, a little like the ugly duckling becoming a beautiful swan, also liked your clever use of 'never outgrow it' - best wishes for the contest~

Thanks, Michelle. And thanks for your supporting comments all along. Also, I read your comments about Truth or Consequences on Gary's poem of funny British names. I live 70 miles from T or C (what it's now called). I think it was an incredibly stupid thing that town did long ago. What were they thinking?! Anyhow, small world to find you wrote about it :) i

Dear Anne, this is a beautiful journey of self-discovery and transformation. You portray the protagonist's evolution from uncertainty to confidence through creative imagery and lyrical language. The metaphor of growing into one's true self, depicted through the growth of a pansy, is deeply touching. Your words encourage us all to embrace our unique beauty and potential. Very Inspirational. - Blessings, Daniel
