Hell

why would God design
a being fragile in will
then punish for that

In our English bibles, Hell is a mistranslation of the Hebrew "sheol" meaning "pit" or "grave". Never a place of conscious torment by fire. In the NT (Greek text) "hades" is wrongly rendered as Hell. See Ecclesiastes 9:5. When understood as a place or fire and torment it is always understood as symbolic. Hope that helps. / Maurice

That's very interesting, Maurice. Thank you! I read somewhere the Greek word for young girl was mistranslated to virgin. I'm sure it's easy to do when translating from one language to another. I appreciate your comments.

With the price of energy now, hell might be the place to be.

A powerful write with just a few words. We can say yes/no at anytime about anything. Life is all about learning. I think hell was made for the evil ones/punishment. They have turned away from God. Why would God want them in heaven with the good/loving people??? Have a blessed day writing away..................

Paula, that's very thoughtful writing. But, if our own children turn away, do we want them to burn? I believe we wouldn't wish them harm, regardless. Thanks so much for your comments, dear Paula.

good thinking, Ann. I believe hell is a state of mind for the guilty, and if a person never learned wrong from right, he can't feel guilt. And endless fire burning people is not logical nor is it what a loving Father would do to his children, no matter how badly they turned out.

Thank you so much, Andrea. That is exactly how I believe. If a loving Father created us, knowing we're weak, he wouldn't condemn us to burn forever when we erred. Thank you!

I do not think there is a heaven or hell, but very astute observation~

Thanks so much, Michelle. I have never believed in hell, and when I thank God, I think of a being that is a part of everything that is alive, even spiders. :)

If Satan was fragile he would not have gone to hell.

I'm saying I don't believe a loving God would throw those who err into a living hell. Where is the logic there? Thank you for commenting, Victor.

Who knows who ends up in Hell anyway?! All we can do is our level-best here on Earth. ~ Heaven and Hell can wait!

Something to think about, Ann. something my dad always said that I hated, "ours is not to question why". Always my first question,"why"

I know many people who don't question and don't like others to question. But we were given brains for a reason. Thanks for your comments, Daniel.
