For the contest, "Abandon," by Constance la France

Please don't abandon this life so soon Before blossoms spill their sweet perfume Wait with me for morning's garden song that gently reminds we each belong. Watch as sun dances over each hill, waking sleepy fields, lilac and still. We'll run through a field of marigolds, splash in a stream that defies control. We are so lucky to have this chance to share such beauty in a small glance. Don't abandon hope, for there is more waiting on sandy sparkles of shore. Love and beauty are everywhere just hoping to find someone to share. Please stick around for joy is random, and it will find you. Don't abandon!

- In the challenging times we live in, many are struggling with the darkness, Ann - Often even small things can bring a lot of joy ... which can give strength, new hope, and help on the way forward - A beautiful and sensitive poem - Best wishes in the contest :) - hugs

Thank you, Anne-Lise. This is a very disturbing time, and it's easy to see the youth become discouraged. I wish everyone could find beauty in the things we poets do. Thanks for commenting.:)

These days people easily get fed up with life and recklessly decide to end their life. This poem is an exhortation to look around and feast on the beauty, life parades before us. Do not abandon life, but live every moment. Great advice, dear Anne.

Thank you, dear friend Valsa. My grandson by marriage killed himself at 21, ten years ago. Such a sad waste. This world has become a discouraging place, so people may have to recognize beauty around us, as we poets do. Thanks for commenting.
