How My First Poem Was Born

Lonely shuttered days
as Covid slammed at our souls
To fill the long day
I tried writing of my sons
how they fill my heart with love

Great way to start. My early poems, just a few, were of my kids. Two others were grief poems. When I took a poetry class that’s when I started to write more, and there’s more to tell but not now :)

This I can so well relate. Though I started writing much earlier, my output of poems increased considerably during Covid time as there were no visitors and no outings. A beautiful entry for the contest. All the best, dear Anne.
