I AM A WATER LILY
When blue skies kiss whisper and queer ripples quiver...
I drink on sun rays and bathe from falling rain,
I stand there afloat: graceful and reserve.
From pink petals shimmer, I flush also a moonlit snow,
honeyed aroma I puff and puff chasing wind curves
thrilling some senses, awakening some nerves!
Upon gush and waves of bursting rainbow colors,
I lay atop, my rhizomes rise, they waft....
Around my roots are croaking frogs and slimy eels,
they thrive for I supply their daily meals.
Day by day in my life, I live to be pure,
my heart beckons heaven yet my roots down here...
Even if currents trample me and storms blow me,
upon seas and oceans, I trip like a sailing ship
but upon force, upon wonders I shall abide
giving my everything-- my best white shots!
Note: Rhizomes - a horizontal plant stem with shoots above and roots below
serving as a reproductive structure

Long after the drought
vast fields of parched earth
have waited with ears to the wind
Desperate with thirst and withered to rust
each breeze tosses dust to the sky
Then, thundering sounds, from the stomper of clouds
comes from deep from the girth of the hills
There are trampling sounds, and rain seeds are thrown
in answer to prayers, with requisite words
that roars to deafen their fears
In great anticipation, the sky becomes dark
and the spark of excitement is high
The sun becomes lost, and the pebbles of rain
fall to earth, tossed like bright silver coins
Hydration of air, is a gift from the gods
Invigorates, and awakens the sod
Precipitation arrives, and the world comes alive
Crystallization of hope and surprise
Sun-choked and thirsty, earth turns up an eye
grateful, at last, to the clouds in the sky
While Into green silk, comes a new stalk of grass
and raindrops are now welcomed home with applause

I am water, precious water, the most important source
of life on earth. Master of all shape shifters, I am ever
moving and changing my appearance. When temperatures
dip low enough, I show my freezing solid state of ice
in crystallization and softly enchant you with my beauty
in the form of snowflakes; each tiny flake uniquely different.
Skaters skate on my glassy ice lake and skiers fly down
from mountain top runs. My snowy sleigh rides romance.
I am a requisite for every thirsty plant or tree as they display
their dance with me in transpiration and in evaporation.
My magical cloak covers almost three quarters of the earth.
As the seasons change I cordially oblige offering sleet or hail,
then without a backward glance, I waltz with spring in showers.
With my precipitation lovely blooming trees accept hydration.
Children with impermeable galoshes splash delightfully in
shallow puddles I have created. Lilac blossoms drift into placid
lakes where tourists flock, come summer, to swim and play.
I meander through tall pines in mysterious misty fog in fall, then
invigorate the earth each morning with diamond dew drops.
I invite all to travel on my salty seas as my foamy waves splash
upon the shore. I leave you awestruck with towering waterfalls
and swift flowing rivers for white water rafting or fishing in
quiet solitude. My waters provide food and drink for a hungry
thirsty world. Look to my lofty clouds to know there is a heaven!

You chose me.
Picked me up
this delicate shadow thin glass vessel
in some antique store by the Asian docks.
Paid for me with peacock feathers and a slice of the star I still see from my window.
Gift wrapped in a shoe box
filled with foreign headlines steaming newspaper ink.
You poked holes in the lid
with your old brass house key.
What a walk home we had that night-
you whistling that tune...
What was it?
That Spanish tune you always sang?
I knew your voice as the first fingerprints of love.
The ships set sail to lapping water on barnacles
and you took me home to candlelight
and the smell of fresh bread for your dinner.
The poor man's meal.
You unwrapped me and I smiled at you.
My first smile - so wide I almost broke my glass skin.
You filled me with violets and sank bubbled water in my throat.
An evening to remember as my first purpose in life.
Perhaps I mourn you still,
as I get passed from hand to hand
as your family heirloom.
They'll never know you as I did -
I hold your last fingerprint inside me, unwashed, untouched
excepting the last violet stem you graced me with.
You began my history, and I am the end of yours.

I’m a little flower
Being seared by the sun
My petals are now wilting
My life is almost done
I’m a little flower
My colors are fading fast
I’m parched to the core
And yet you move on passed
You water other flowers
Little sprinkles you give me
While I struggle to hold on
My beauty for you to see
I’m a little flower
That you once called divine
Now you have lost interest
I’m no longer glorious...fine
I’m a little flower
You’ve neglected for a while
But I’m still struggling on
Longing to see your smile…
I’m a little flower
This is my final plea
Remember my first bloom
Promise to revive me
Oh, water me, my love
My petals now caress
I’ll open as before
unfurled by tenderness

The heart of the sea is a mother's heart
She is the great ancestral mother of all life on the planet
Deep within the mysterious waters of her womb
she conceived and gave birth to the first life form
which evolved into more complex organisms
that live on the land and in the air
She is an essential part of the planet's ecosystem
feeding the clouds which bring rain and snow
that sustain life on the earth
Through tiny ocean plants and photosynthesis
she removes carbon dioxide from the air
and converts it to more than one half of the oxygen
in the earth's atmosphere
She is the great food provider to the planet
having her own internal food chain
with tiny phytoplankton at the lower end
and enormous sharks and whales at the upper end
She feeds creatures from the land and air
that venture to fish in her waters
She is a thing of beauty even in her enraged fury
with massive waves towering over a hundred feet
and the seething white foam of her waters
This has been her action
even before the advent of man on the planet
Man must respect her behaviour
or suffer death and destruction if he does not
She is a thing of beauty in her calm stillness under the setting sun
which lights up the evening sky in its glorious splendour
and paints a glistening beam of light on the water's surface
in line with the sun and surrounds it
with brilliant colours of the rainbow

I am a parched and thirsty land
My soil is cracked, dry and lifeless
My fields are fallow and wanting
My farmers agonize and pray for rain
I am the bread basket for many souls
Yet years of drought are exacting their toll
My crops are failing, my wells are running dry
Without water, my land's lifeblood
I will become a wasteland and die
I am a parched and thirsty land
I, the great Golden State, am out of water
I am California.

The ocean tickled my feet.
The waves ran across the shore,
It wrapped around me and gave me a hug.
The ocean sang while it crashed onto the shore,
It danced through the rocks.

A wise man once said,
A bucket full of water goes a long way
You need it and yet it is the exact burden of its weight
that will drag you down
So tell me, how do you carry that amount of water
without that bucket?
Leaving it behind will kill you either way
But the bucket full of water will last you longer
Water is essential after all
For a days journey or two
And that is why the bucket full of water goes a long way

The animals know better than us. The rain has never poured so loudly in a key so soft.
To the front, the sailing of city buses and mini vans cruising across in this weather makes the water underneath their tires sound like the street is crying out for 5 more minutes of sleep. Up above, the trees are protecting a nest of baby blue jays before they get washed away by the silence of their mother not being there. But with sky blue young spirits, and small empty stomachs, they keep hope alive in the fact that even children know storms and struggles don’t last forever.
Below the trees, nature has found a name to call it’s own. From the hole dug by the little boy next door, a family of three foxes have named human nature sanctuary, and burrowed their problems into the sediment to rest for a while.
To the side of the hole, a flock of ducks are swimming in the water with eyes open wide enough to where you can see their loyalty to love one another rushes wild.
To the right of the pond, caged up in a man made blanket, and lost in his own mind, is the boy. From what he remembers, last night was like a train accident; A head on collision of two people he could’ve sworn he saw holding hands just the other day. He hears the sound of plates shattering in C-minor, and the chorus of words that his parents screamed in F-sharp, so he imprisoned himself in his own bed sheets, accompanied by the courageous corduroy bear who he swears keeps hearing whisper “everything will be okay.”
It’s raining outside, and the crescendos of screams have been silenced by it’s peaceful security.
The boy, sleeps soundly now. The rain has protected his ears, and guarded his heart from being washed away by all of his nightmares.
He doesn’t care whether he wakes up. The baby blue jay, the resourceful fox and the brave little duck are all he wants to keep dreaming about.
Maybe he’ll run away into the rain? Or maybe into the arms if his mother?, whom he prays he can still recognize. To the left of his bed, he picked up the blank page of his coloring book and a crayon, and became a life long poet in that moment that morning. Taking a deep breath in, and giving a soft breath out, his first sentence was
“The animals know better than us.”

Cool is the air, cool is the sea,
Everything seems splendid, like season of blee.
Being on the banks, how I wonder…
God has created our planet, with no scope of blunder.
Flows with a flow, our flowing river,
Deludes everyone in sunshine, the flow of the silver.
Sings on high notes, a group of lark,
Accompanied by blossom flowers, on branches of the bark.
Mountains touch the widest sky,
Like one’s imagination, with an ambition so high.
Unsteady is my state of mind, trying to flee,
Similar to the wave, moving in the sea.
Around me was everything like the air I breathe,
Now I can only see nature endeavoring death.
Responsible are we, for we spoiled the blend,
The world which is dooming, is by our dirty hand.
There is no other way except praying on our knee,
Oh dear nature! Please guide, as your children are we,
We will take in our hands, to spread the glory of nature,
Oh dear mother! Enlighten our way with your nomenclature.

I am aggressive
drowning problems under myself
I watch their sorrow grow in the wake of what I've done;
their world shaken,
My rough foam bubbling as their toes intercept sand
they look to the horizon in hope of a new day,
a day where the feeling of me is one from their heart,
when the blowing wind doesn't suck the air from their bodies,
when they can once more see beauty in a storm
rather than the sunken faces of those whom they loved being taken away

When the sky is furious
He whips up storms in the air, on land and water
These terrifying disasters.
When the sky is full of sorrow
He sheds his tears
And sometimes he will yell out his curse on humanity
And strike himself.
In his grief, he will destroy both the guilty and innocent
He will make them inaccessible and leave them no hope
And drown them in his tears of sorrow
Which fall from his white, fluffy soul
A giant waterfall of grief.
After crying away all his anguish,
The clouds are gone.
The sky's soul is no more
The sadness of the sky has killed him
And only the sun can bring his soul back
By summoning water to the dead, gray sky.
When the sky is cheerful
He radiates blue to represent tranquility and peace
His lively pure earth-surrounding soul
Dances and shares in the joy of the people below
The white of clouds represents purity from wrongdoing
The sky celebrates.

Watching the water so still and sound
With only a reflection of who we are now
Watching the clouds in the sky
Rolling fast as they say good by
Touch the flowers there smooth as silk
As the sun shines on them they start to wilt
Is this my life showing me how
Or can it be the world spinning around
If we touch the water we touch the clouds
Turning are life up side down
The sun is hot but it gives us life
Like the clouds when they touch the sky
I’ll just lay here watch and wonder why

The earth is magnanimous to providing accommodation to all inhabitants
The stars in the cloudy sky are in appreciation
as they move about its very spacious aerial apartment
The trees show their gratitude
as they wave their effects of flowers
The animals are very happy living on the earth-owned land, water and air
by their ‘free-of-charge’ movement and sounds
Humans are the most favoured inhabitants:
They create their homes
They build their technologies
They define their lifestyle
They have used to their advantage the earth’s apartments---land, water and air.
The wind moves the air
It is assisting the earth in accommodating the birds of the air
Gases are the happiest occupants
as they can move about freely unhindered
Tiny particles are appreciative:
They can at any point
as directed by the wind
They need not to pay for it
The earth’s plants can use some of the wind’s gases for activities for free
The wind provides the earth’s humans the right breathing element
It grants access to human’s invention---the airplane
Water is the most universally accommodating
It provides habitation for plants and animals,
just as the earth does,
all for free
It allows all manner of entities---known and unknown to live in it
It is gives some special earth’s plants ‘extra’ accommodation
All aquatic creatures appreciates its benevolence
as they exercise their peculiar dynamisms in its apartments---rivers, seas and oceans
Earth’s animals benefit from Water as it assists their living thirst
Humans are benefiting greatly:
Their living thirsts are met free of charge
Their built ships are plied on free
Other inventions have sailed on
and in it for free
Fire is a selective in accommodating
Physical entities would hardly live in it,
though it brings some benefits to all
that comes across it
it can burst into flames
and consumes to ashes everything it gets in contact with
it can provide the warmth humans need for normal temperature
humans can use it to easily dispose the ‘unwanted’,
all for free
The elements of nature are interacting with each other
Their interaction is at a higher dimension
Their frequencies resonates adequately at the Genetic Streams of Forever
Their relationship brings to commonality the Genetic Portal;
the passage to the advanced nature’s elements
Their understanding would take multi-dimensionality to appreciate.
But at balanced point,
all of nature elements will interact equally with their advanced counterp

I am calm yet raging
Gentle yet rough.
Through a path winding,
Flexible yet tough.
I move with the wind
Or maybe stand still.
To liquids I am twinned
Your needs I fulfill.
I shimmer and shine bright
As I reflect the sun`s grin.
You need me day and night
Without me life just wouldn’t begin.
Sometimes I am cold and blue
Or bound with a pinch of green.
I may be the morning dew.
Or the muddy puddles seen.
I am found in abundance
You find me all-around.
Each time a different appearance
In the sky and on the ground.
But in the world today
I really need to be saved.
I am not to be wasted away.
Because when I am gone I`ll be craved.
Everyone knows that water is life
Think of life if I were to be gone
Before life turns into a bitter strife
Save the water that we depend upon.
