My Song

~Not Like Me~

When you were first put into my arms,
I begged God, to make you nothing like me
For my sins, ask for no transformation
This is my song, my meditation

Look at my face
Where has it all gone,
You no longer desire to be a part my song

Look at my life,
The toll, hasn't been paid
I'm the one suffering everyday

The vengeance of eternal flames,
  sit near the empty hearth
Burning my needs to hold you once more,
I need you more than you'll ever know

Now, Look at me, I'm 53 and have no where to go
Everyone I know, awaits in a place of gold
Unlike you, you're too busy growing old
------ Not Like Me!!!

Singing a song, that accentuate's the mind,
I have no one to blame, I neglected all the signs
Hoping the rain would slowly die off

Today here I lay, wondering where I went wrong
I implored God, to cause you nothing like me
I have a heart that forgives, and tries to forget
I kneel, and I give, and I treat others with respect
My compassion, I measured in the poorest way

I judged my life worse than the others did
Now why did I ask ---- Not Like Me!
For my sins, ask for no translation
This is my song, my speculation

The dreaded conclusion of this song,
All I can say, "Be careful what you ask for."
At the end, all I can say, I got what I asked for
Someone, who's Not Like Me.........................

Mermaid's Milk: a collaboration with the still dashing David Williams

The moss clung tightly; making it unbearable to breathe,
and she sealed her lips tighter than a clam’s— not letting the pain take over

As the stars drift silently, like ships on a lost sea of darkness,
she whispers to Hope:
“Swim free and look for the horizon, then come back to me...”

The night; collected on the leaves,
drops fell like Mermaid’s milk onto an already moist floor
Striking the shimmering tearful medium,
it gives birth to a shower of graceful pearls as the dawn awaits

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hear your voice drift upon a cool ocean breeze;
              gilded words of adoration
I glide towards it, praying that it guides me,
          strengthens me,
                nurtures me
  like Mermaid’s milk

Touch as I might, my senses are in-different to please, my voice mute!
Be my Siren’s song and sing for me, serenade my senses back to life...

With an inquisitive tongue, I taste an almost scentless flower
It is but a wisp, a whisper, a flick of a ray of sunshine, but it was There.

So much is lost.
The rivulets of time, hear me, see me, like a ghostly apparition...
Capture me in that moment by lovingly painting me.
Sing me a song while you do,
and let the Mermaid’s milk flow again.

*****
Thank you David, for waiting ever so patiently for my long overdue part--
it was a very nice challenge for me to write this :)
Thank you very much for the inspiring lines...

A Christmas Snow

Snowy splendor of white fluffy freshly fallen snow blanketing everything that
Gets in its way, sparkling like glitter from the illumination descending light
Of the stars, moon, and lights of the street lamp.

Snowman all a glitter in the front yard, with its black top hat, a scarf around its neck,
An orange carrot nose, greeting all visitors.
Snow settled on the spindly tree branches glisten like arms with finger

The homes lit up with different colored Christmas lights on eaves for the holiday spirit,
A candle lit in the window a beacon for those that are traveling,
A warm welcoming to friends to come in and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate,
Wrapped in a warm quilt, enjoying Christmas stories
And sit around the inviting fireplace.

A fresh cut blue spruce sits by the window decorated with delicate old glass
Ornaments handed down, candy canes, toys, children’s handmade ornaments,
an a star to light up the top of the tree, wrapped with strings of popcorn and
cranberry garland, homemade cookies and cakes scenting the air

Carolers out in the chill of the winter night, all warm in stocking hats, wool
Mittens, snow boots, and warm coats singing,
Deck The Halls with boughs of holly, Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Warming people’s hearts

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

Music For You P.S. (adult content)

Music comforts the soul, cures that restless spirit.
Some songs will make you crank up the volume so everyone can hear it....
Music can alter moods, and talk to you.
Some songs have the remedy for what you're going through....
Music is good medicine for a broken heart,
and yet some songs can turn around and tear it apart....Music has brought people all
around the world together;
And some melodies will keep playing on forever....
Music adds to the intensity of making love.
Fuels that fire, you can't seem to get enough of....
Music makes me sad, glad, happy and mad.
Some songs make me pick up a pen and pad....
Music makes me wanna pull a woman close, kiss her nose, remove her clothes,
       suck her toes,
And with Janet Jackson still singing "That's the Way Love Goes;"
Me and her make our own music video until her sweet nectar overflows!!!!!

Note: To my fav. soupers, I don't know your preferred genre of music and sometimes age
plays a huge role in a persons tastes in music. Since I don't know everyone's age, I'm going

I want your love

To be no one,
you got to be someone,
to be nowhere,
got to be somewhere,
to deliver the words we all want to hear,

as the darkness,
lights the fire,
and the room gets,
brighter and brighter,
ever close you step into the room,

as the silk,
slips down your body,
skin like milk,
you move towards me,
whilst you run your fingers through your hair,

on this night,
you came over,
I was oblivious,
in my slumber,
you whispered these words in my ear,

I want your love,
I want you and me to be as one,
I want your love,
I want you and I to be together again...

Part 1 If this is my country It is yours also Then why you are making Such a condition of this land. 01 The dreams which we had seen To make this country A land, dearest to everyone On Earth.02 Those dreams are weeping And crying, Whenever they see You or me. 03 Is this the way To make a new world for us By nipping and crushing The dreams and expectations Of each and everyone. 04 By making the poor innocent children As street baggers What an India of my dreams You have made O’ makers. 05 If this is my country It is yours also Then why the woman’s respect Is looted everyday on its soil. 06 Is the man of today is so helpless That those who rob the respect of women Are set free every day, So that, they may rob again What an India of my dreams You have made O’ makers. Then why you are making Such a condition of this land. 07 You and Me both have born on this soil And on its soil only We would part our last breath. 08 After centuries of long struggles We had received back Our Garden And After great difficulties We had started seeing Some blooming. 09 We could have made it again A garden full of flowers A garden on which All the seasons Would spread their splendors. 10 But what you have made Of our montherland A story on which The world would only laugh. I fell in like with you

Inspired by one of my favorite bands, Rise Against, and the song is called,
“Ever-changing” (Acoustic). Please listen to this song if you don’t know of it. It’s raw &
powerful.

“Have you ever been a part of something? That you thought would never end. But then, of
course, it did.” –Rise Against

“I fell in ‘Like’ with you”

With her smile
I melted unto oblivion’s redemption
Candy coated perceptions, windows’ gap
Seeping brilliance refreshment

Uncertainty resolution, polished
Absorbed into closeness sun
Yet these eyes still…see
Butterflies taking notice, missing you…as you stood in front of me

Strong, yet soft legs
Foundation of my face to rest upon
Scars…fading
A cremated sin

Yet, elongated moments of silence
Created abruption’s new face

The face of change
When she turned to me and said
“I’m not sure, anymore”

Emotional lullaby, rocking me to sleep
New battles with spectral flashback
Trying to get under my skin, a drunken tick facing demise

Phoenix’s sunrise, rejuvenating my recycled defenses
Yet, today, these rays just aren’t bright enough to burn sadness away

And with these sounds of storm clouds & Fall on horizon’s breath
These grounds are so familiar, yet bittersweet
This heart doesn’t want to be enlightened by karma today

It wants to be held for how it shines now

Denied…distance wins again today
Slavery whipped punishments in miles and blocks
This must end

Because I try to keep lines open to get a call from you
Yet all I hear are booty calls with busy signals

And yet something has kept me here too long
But can they leave me, if I’m already gone?

Something has kept me here too long
Karma’s laughter

But, through it all, I will shine

…

How I wish my mere presence can bring joy’s tear to her eye

Sadly though, now, the lines are drawn
Yet I wonder if this feeling is gone
Have the best parts of this…come and gone?

…

Maybe I’ll never know the truth

Perhaps she was misguided by jealousy’s deprivation
Deteriorating heart’s splendor

While I fell in “like” with her

Perhaps “Better Man 2.0” appeared from Cloud 9’s fallacy

While I fell in “like” with her

Perhaps
She held onto the past

As I, drawn to waterfall’s edge
Allowed myself

To let go…and F

I know (Oppression)

One thing that I know all about, without any doubt
The meaning of “Oppression of The Soul.”
I once shattered all my dreams, with ill-gotten schemes
                      Along with every single goal
Emptiness is a real dark thing
As it eats its way through your soul
I found the bottom of the pit, all I can say of it
It truly was a very empty hole
I guess every story has a meaning
Just as every game has a price
If you look closely at me, you’ll be able to see
A lifetime of pain in my advice
Oppression is a real dark word
Regardless of how the word is used
If you’re in the shadow of it, the bottom the pit
You know what it means to be abused
For years I walked in the shadows
I had nothing but hatred for the Son
I just couldn’t see, why it had to be
All the things in my life that had been done
If you were to look into my eyes
And read all the stories they have to tell
All you would be able to see, is pain and misery
A shadow that was in a living hell
I know all about oppression
For it rolls upon the shores of hate
I once looked in the mirror to see, a ghost living in me
Just a skeleton walking through his fate
I also know all about redemption
Behind every shadow there rest some form of light
With in the breath of a prayer, I learned how to care
Thus changing the course of my plight
Every story has a meaning
There is a way to right any wrong
Grasp to the light, and then hold on tight
As you search for the meaning of your song
My song once was heavy metal
I truly loved to bang my head
An empty soul, with a bottomless hole
A never-ending hunger to be fed
Now my song is a ballad
A story that is full of hope and love
I learned how to pray, and give it away
Accepting grace from the Lord above
Oppression crosses our paths everyday
        It is everywhere to see
You know what’s right, learn to stand and fight
You will have learned to be all that you can be

Take me away but I promise to sing a Song

NOTE: I have placed this Poem as a Video Poem also on
http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/profile.php?id=100001219732381

[ This Poem is dedicated to Freedom of Expression
and Tibetan Dharma Guru Shri Dalai Lama to support
his struggle for the cause of Freedom of Expression ]

Take me away but I promise to sing a Song

Take me away from such a place,
Where feelings and emotions,
cannot be freely expressed.

Where new thoughts and ideas are crushed,
By the rod of power and corrupts.

Where mind do not get the opportunity to reveal,
its vast sea of beauty and varying colors.

Where love never flies freely in the sky,
while touching the unexplored lofty heights, and
wings of Poetry are nipped in the buds,
before they bloom and spread their smiles.

Where wind do not flow,
while touching the flowers and buds,
Where the butterflies do not have the freedom,
to show their varying moods and colors.

Where faiths have lost their grandeurs and glow, and
shrines are converted into suffocating barracks.

Where love has lost its magic of moving a heart,
to sing a song and dance on the call of its soul,
Where a vast sea of humans live,
without the freedom of expression.

Take me away from such a land and place,
Where people live in chains under iron curtains.

I promise I will come back to this land one day,
when the breeze will flow freely touching every heart,

When its people will have the freedom to fly on their wings,
I promise I will come back, to such a place one day,

When animals too would move without fear in their hearts, and
birds would be free to fly anywhere in the sky.

When the morning dew would greet the new rising Sun,
By glittering without fear, its silver and golden beams,
When flowers and buds would freely spread,
their alluring wings and fragrance in the air.

When the human mind would be free to explore and express,
its ideas and colors on the canvas of paper.

I promise I will come to such a land one day,
to Sing the song of joy and mirth.

The Voice of Her Mother- My Daughter's Gift

I've written the lyrics to two lullabies for my daughter, Shereen. I even made
up the tunes, and I'd sing to her when she was a baby to put her to sleep. She
still remembers those songs at 19 years of age. For my birthday last May, she
wrote this poem as a gift....just like last year. The quoted parts are words taken from the lullabies. I adore my daughter, my greatest and most precious gift.

“When she smiles, I feel like a bird in the sky.”
The words softly sung to the weary child-
This bundle of whimpers
This armful of distress-
Hoping they’d ease her restlessness
Hoping they’d calm her disquieted heart…
And they did.
Like nothing else ever could.
Nothing could comfort her
Like the voice of her mother.

“She is the apple of my eye.”
Rocking gently in time with the tune, she swiftly fell
Fell into a peaceful slumber
Nuzzled in the warmth of her consoler
Whimpers softened, distress vanished
Quiet. Serene.
Floating in the promise
That those words would be there
To welcome her in the morning.
Nothing could comfort her
Like the voice of her mother.

“With laughter and joy she fills my heart”
Nestled in that kind embrace
The child, now almost grown
With tear-stained face and heavy heart
Couldn't fight the world alone
But whenever she was breaking, too tired to go on
She’d search for those same words-
To ease her restlessness
To calm her disquieted heart…
She’d search for those same words
To find them in those same arms.
And she’d fall. Like she always did.
Fall into that peaceful slumber
Quiet. Serene.
Floating in the promise
That those words would be there
To welcome her in the morning.
Nothing could comfort her
Like the voice of her mother.

Written by Shereen Nathalie Ghali (May 18, 2014)

Please read The Month of May...which is Shereen's first birthday poem written for me and posted here. You will find it if you type the title in PS's search engine. It is a beauty and is in rhyme.

4th Grade Music Room

Under her guidance, we stood at attention
forming a row for the national anthem
"Oh Say, Can You See?"...those familiar old words
We would sing, not in unison
but with avid enthusiasm
out of tune, out of rhythm
with our childish delusions
that we were quite good!

As we stood in the room
she would move down the line
with a frown in the lines
of her brow, then would bow
till her ear matched our voice
and her hand would be poised
with two fingers ensued
keeping time with the tune.

She would grit all her teeth
bite the inside of cheeks
Such a serious task!
it was all that she asked
that we please..do our best

When we mastered, at last
She would gasp, then exclaim
as we sang each refrain
Mixed with tears, she would clap

I remember it now...
Here I stand in this row
with my hand on my heart
as the first strain imparts
Yes, I know those old words...
they'll remain part of me
'til the day that I die
"O Say, Can You See?"...still familiar to me

But no..............I can't see....

There are tears in my eyes...

Spring Showers

free
as the wind
in song
and verse
tumbling
within my soul
quenching
my poetic thirst

as vibrant
as the wild daisy
each teardrop
upon my face
I twist and turn
in posy
lapping up
the springtime rain

with each
pitter patter
racing
to greet my heart
I melt
with each breath of beauty
drowning
as I impart

forever
in crystal showers
as I fall back
to paint the day
from the rumbling clouds
of dynasty
quickly
I am taken away

free
as the wind
in song
and verse

untouched purity
this poetic birth

Mystique Lady and the Unicorn - Nikko -

Mystique Lady and the Unicorn (collaboration ~NIKKO)

by: NIKKO

An invisible string was created from the beginning of time,
it is wound around my horn, and bound to your heart
Invincible.
Each time your heart beats, you tug at this string,
drawing me closer to you

You are unaware of this, I love you
yet I fear and resist you, dear Lady
Not only have you captivated me, but my fate is in your hands

I am the last Unicorn in existence

Kings and nobles desire me for my horn,
for it can purify poisoned wells
and they know only you have power over me

Sweet virgin, all I ask is
one song to enchant my ears
one glimpse of your precious smile
one kiss from your ruby lips
one whiff from your perfumed dress
...a single stroke from your gentle hands

and I shall dream of you forever

Betray me not please by handing me to the men

Let me lay my horned head on your lap even just once…
then set me free

by~ POET D.

You are Testing me my rear precious unicorn,
every King has offered more than our beauty holds.
Unfold I will hide with you in a placed to protect us from every face.
Avoiding your poisonous horn, in which I fail to feed my soul with your purity.
I will move you from this revolution in which has troubled the monarchy.

Medieval strings of power to catch you~ your the last of your kind.
My Unicorn you are the medicine, the symbol ones seeks to rule darkness.
With passion I hold a belief that your horn can heal illness,
your strength will carry on.

Every time you returned to drink the waters of a no man's paradise,
I reach out to touch your radiance once a year.
Your horn can cure plague, rage, rabies, fever's and more!
Become my host let me wear you in this mystical amulet.
I will wear you as my jewelry while you lay your head on my lap.
My Unicom of purity, I will never tell the ingredient and secrets we share,
as we got lost in each others stare.

I will ride with you and never betray your existence.
Together we will gather the fresh fruit and CORN~
My precious unicorn my virginity is your dignity.
Bathe with me throughout my imortal long and healthy life.
I'll sing you a song good night.

Ali-corn you are the weight in gold, all emperors, will fall at my feet.
One kiss with my red ruby lips!

Revelation

Nyx opened black arms
threading her twilight fingers
and cradled my awe
to turn my hair, white
she filled my eyes with stars
firing a comet to
the core of my heart

my second breathe
carved dragons of fire,
as Aeolus filled each lung,
Terpsikhore sang music
into the life and death
of this epic

~~~~~
I taste a southerly breeze
catching it on the tip of my tongue
rolling it into my lungs
I sing appegio
to throw a shadow of night
the circle of her arms
has tightened,
and the nebula
in my eyes,
threaten to shoot
from their sockets
I have finally
felt the meteor
lodged in my heart,
move in its longing
for one last blaze
of release,
only the breath of God,
holds for revelation
~~~~~

TERPSIKHORE (or Terpsichore) was one of the nine Mousai,
the goddesses of music, song and dance. In late classical times
--when the Muses were assigned specific literary and artistic
spheres--Terpsikhore was named Muse of choral song and
dancing, and represented with a plectrum and lyre.

AIOLOS (or Aeolus) was the king of the winds who kept the
stormy Anemoi Thuellai and Aellai locked away inside the hollow
heart of the floating island of Aiolia. At the command of the gods
he released these to wreck devastating storms. Since the Winds
were often conceived of as horse-shaped spirits, Aiolos was titled
Hippotades, "the reiner of horses," from the Greek hippos ("horse")
and tadên ("reined in tightly").

SEA TEMPTRESS' PLEA

She is the fish-maiden of the night, a temptress that croons to the sky wading on gills of fondled thoughts, the bearer of one fine shipmate’s doom coasting on forbidden passion and trance. On waters’ edge before the stars pale, her body swivels before an ensnared time of charmed maneuver , a hesitant prowl; till the gentle fondness weeps a lonely desire. Laying her man on the crib of soft navel an aching dusk breaks a mermaid's tune ; his breath gasping against the shore while she clings to a howling wind, pleading for rescue into deep cave of moss. Cheers and Whistles

I awaken to a lark’s song
 In early morning’s misty light
Spy it on a branch, softly shaking
In the gentle breeze, its fewer leaves
 Turned yellow gold
 Surround her so pretty,
Her song to me. Yes, I know
the lark sings to me

Its cheery new day song,
As if there were no tomorrow –
 It whistles in the evening
as if there were no
 Yesterdays. Soon it is joined
By another, oh! What a lark!
 What a pair they make!
I remember those same two larks
Not far in the past –

Last Spring, they stood together proudly
Day after day and through the summer; he
 Could go nowhere without her.
He, was the one who sang to her
 Each new morning, the one
Who courted her till each sundown,
Up to twilight when she fell asleep.

He was the one she couldn’t do without,
The one she could love forever, together
They had built the nest for their offspring
 Now grown,
 Now gone.
They’d been inseparable from day one,
 Even bickering, just two souls
 Disagreeing - still, he sang
To her in the morning, sang to her
 Under the setting sun, and

In the autumn of their life
 They sang together, cheery
As if there were no tomorrow
Whistling, as if there were no yesterday.

This morning
 I let out a sigh
 Remembering so well
 The dream I once held
 So tight.
 Will it come to pass?
 The answer came
From the larks song each morning,
Cheery, as if there were no tomorrow.
 Whistle in the evening,
As if there were no yesterday,
 And I sing each day
 With faith.
 I whistle each evening
To not let the sun go down
 On the morose, My love,

I will not let you down.

The Song of the Christmas Snow

There is nothing with so much life as a Christmas snow
The crisp air is still as little dancing stars float to the earth
Strong old trees become burdened with drifts of white upon their bows
But seem honored to be dressed in such finery and appear almost to move
In fact, everything has come to life to watch the snowfall.
Then everything is quiet
There is a whisper in the air
It ripples through the trees
See the birds, they are the first to recognize the whisper
As the Masters of Chorus, the birds know it is a song
They sit as true musicians memorizing the lyrics and rhythm
So, the snow speaks, the voice is old, like it has sung this song many times
As the squirrels could tell you this is a lullaby, and they begin to search from their
perches in the trees for the newborn
And life and love has never felt as strong as now
A horse in its pastures stomps his foot disturbed
Though he hears the song the birds do and the lullaby the squirrels hear, he,
along with all of the worlds creatures, could swear he just heard a cry
The squirrels chatter with laughter, knowing they where right and the birds take
up the snow-song to welcome the child they heard cry
And then they stop and the world is silent
The snow has stopped falling
The cry was only a memory from Christmas long past
The child, a child of time whose
Voice comes with the Christmas snows,
To give every soul the chance to hear
The song of joy and love and beginning,
So it is never forgotten;
The song of the Christmas Snow

Dusk's Reliever

A trickle of water,
A sound of peace,
The stream flies by,
Gallons at a time,
Through the near-silent dark,
The sun is almost at rest,
The moon but a crescent,
Shades of purple,
Shining across the fields,
The ice is slick,
As the temperature drops,
Crickets begin to chirrup,
The bird's song is no more,
The sky is quiet,
Except for the occasional,
Melody of a bat,
A breeze to cool the trees,
Is a song the leaves will dance to,
As children go to bed,
The owls awake to play,
Scouting for their breakfast,
As day's end is their morning,
The mice scurrying the ground,
Animals nocturnal,
Awake to join the party,
Time seems to move slowly,
Whereas,
For the sleeping,
Time is flying,
In fact,
To the sleeping,
It is already morning!

The First Time Ever

The first time ever I saw your face
a pioneering heart began to race,
the first time ever I saw your smile
long journey but worth every single mile,
the first time ever your magical touch
sparks the memory I remember so much,
the first time ever a glimpse of your eyes
those that shamed the blueness of godly skies,
the first time ever in warm embrace
the sweetness of your breath one could taste.

The first time ever to hold you in dance
we held on tight in true loves romance,
beneath the moonlight to “This song is Blue”
yes together we dance just me just you.

The first time ever we said goodbye
the trial the tribulations of the saddest eye,
transferred to one’s sentiment does lend
this to vow this love will never end!

The Yearning

I yearn for truth in the deep
recess of my soul,
for truth is a song celebrating life,
and life is the composition of all things.

I yearn for knowledge,
for without knowledge truth would
not be, and error would not be know,
for error is a song out of tune.

I yearn for wisdom,
for wisdom is a child in humble
access of truth,
having knowledge of error to correct
the unsung.

I yearn for peace,
peace is a free bird flying in
the open sky,
a joy to behold in perilous night
caressing the wind of time.

If Only

If only it didn't just take a second to get to heaven
The devil's smiling, bet he didn't tell you it's the fast track to hell
My smile's only temporary, but so is this life sentence I've been given
I never was asked if I wanted to start living.

So I'm..
Hanging by a thread
My sanity is laughing at me
In the mirror, staring at the person
Who seems to be wandering
Empty and lost, like a penny on tails
Unlucky and left behind, story of a person
Such as mine.

My confusion is confused
Piece of mind tattered and loose
The love song from my heart, sings to the wind
Carrying on, I think it's never to end
Because it winds like the river
Occasionally winks and sparkles
Off a sunset reflection, searching for a tomorrow
But sometimes deep blue
Sad, like the pulsing veins
Of a heartbroken poet
Insane in the brain.

If only you could see me, then maybe.
If only you could save me, yeah then maybe.

Then maybe
Tears wouldn't run down the face and
Hurry away from the pain in the eyes
Of a person with nightmares
And teardrop filled skies.

A person who dreams of a better tomorrow
But memories are the chains
Bearing back her heart
And holding the jagged pieces together
From falling apart.

I'm lonely
Do you see my face?
I'm trying
To get a grip nowadays
Yeah you could help me
Get me out of this place
If only, yeah if only.

Hoping one day another
Will hear her song through the breeze
And linger back to the place
Where she kneels hopelessly
Desired to be glued together
Band aid, or tacked
She just wants to become whole again
And never look back.
Wants to trampled by love
Stampeded to the beat
Of love and loyalty
Someone she can keep.

Her broken smile will reign
And she'll rip stanzas from her soul
Trickling toxic tragedies
Painting pictures in your eyes
Watch her sorrows like a movie
On replay in your mind.

Her theatre is her torture chamber
Lashing you down to your raw memories
Don't look around, don't hide
Don't let your mistakes trouble your mind
Your blood is flowing
And you've still got time
To change the future
Is to change your mind

Maybe, then maybe.
You could save me
After you save yourself
Then you could help me
I've got nobody else, if only.

Yeah
If only.

Hovering

How many have ever heard the song "Somewhere in Time?"
It's a song with only music and with no words or rhyme.
"Fantasie Impromtu" is another one written by Chopin?
Also a song of rare beauty without words thrown in.
These two songs along with "Moonlight Sonata" were played by my son.
He's an acomplished pianist who can play most any run.
He played these songs at my funeral last week.
Don't be shocked all you people keep on sitting in your seat.
You Poetry Soup poets who are sitting there reading this write.
Yes you! Don't turn around and look behind you or look to the right!
Do you feel that erie feeling in your tummy right now?
Well! It's because of me! I'm hovering over you somehow!
No don't look! You won't see me.
My spirit is floating above your right shoulder freely.
I'm watching you read your poems. Did you get some good comments today?
Yes I saw where you wrote that beautiful verse, and that nice display!
You deserve that nice comment. How about your soupmail? Are there very many?
Did someone tell you a secret? Remember! I won't tell and I know a plenty!
I've been watching you on Poetry Soup for hours writing your poems that rhyme.
You're writing about love and mysteries, about cat tails, building spaceships and rhyme
        time!
You're writing of happy new year, time warps, romantic longings and betrayals and how do
        you do it,
One of you says your poems are like children to you, one writes of beautiful women
        with wit
And one of you even wrote of hanging berries! And all of these wonderful poems I've read.
I have hovered over many of you and you never even knew I was dead,
Such wonderful talented writers we have on Poetry Soup.
Everyone writes his own style that belongs to this group.
So take heed when you sit down to write a new rhyme.
And know that someone's watching you write all this time.
And when you feel that erie feeling in your tummy right now.
Well! It's because of me! I'm hovering over you somehow!

Swagger’s Song

Hey Look
You arrogant lady
Don’t move like a Cat
On my way.

I know
How to bell a Cat
When she is crazy
For a walk and talk
Like a clever politician.

Don't play a trick
With me
By blinking your eyes
Dear lady
I know you are hungry
Like a tigress,
And would leave
Nothing for me
If I offer you
Something to eat.

Still, you want to keep me
In a world of illusions
Till the next prey falls
For you
In the season.

You are doing all this
So that
I may not
Judge your moves
And intensions
And you may make
Your joyous attack
On my ways
Whenever I move
To feel the
Fresh air of the season.

But remember
Hey
You arrogant lady
Don’t move like a Cat
On my way.

I know
How to bell a Cat
When she is crazy
For a walk and talk
Like a claver politician.

I know you are not
In your senses
You have drained
The whole bottle
Down your throat
Dear lady

And in a senseless
State of drunkenness
You want to
Walk and Talk
Like a politician.

Don't play a trick
With me
By blinking your eyes
Dear lady
I know you are hungry
Like a tigress
And would leave
Nothing for me
If I offer my food
To you.

Still, you want to keep me
In a world of illusions
Till the next prey falls
For you
In the season.

You are doing all this
So that
I may not
Know your moves
And intensions
And you may make
Your joyous attack
On my ways
Whenever I move
To feel the
Fresh air of the season.

But remember
Hey
You arrogant lady
Don’t move like a Cat
On my way
I know
How to bell a Cat
When she is crazy
For a walk and talk
Like a claver politician.

I know you are not
In your senses
You have drained
The whole bottle
Down your throat

And you are
In a senseless
Stage of drunkenness
Still you want to
Walk and Talk
Like a politician

Hey
Look you arrogant lady
Don’t move like a Cat
On my way

I know
How to bell a Cat
When she is crazy
For a walk and talk
Like a claver politician

Don't play a trick
With me,
By blinking your eyes
Dear lady
I know you are
Behaving
Like a seasoned actor

But I also know
That
You are completely drunk
And can’t take
Any meaningful decision.

I know
How to bell a Cat
Dear lady
When she is crazy
For a walk and talk
Like a claver politician.

Twilight

Come and hear the song,
The song of the angels,
As the heavens open.
The split of the sky;
The cascading colors.
As the gates close,
Darkness falls over.
The darkness twinkles,
Twinkles with beautiful lights,
Now come hear the song,
The song of the night.
It sings out in a Capella voice.
Sway to the rhythm,
As you succumb to darkness.
The song plays on and on,
Until the morning fires blaze.

Folk Song of India Farmer, Clouds, Rains and Trees

A Folk Song of India My Video Song is also on You Tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukRQxnYGQwQ&feature=plcp Background Note: Its a story of a worried Farmer as his fields were dry because of no rains & the season of planting Rice was passing fast. His eyes were full of tears while thinking, what he would eat & earn if he fails to plant the Rice saplings without good Rains in his fields. The song conveys feelings of an Indian farmer, who often face such situations due to lack of rains. Rains felt pity & flooded his fields or his love for Trees & Nature. Folk Song of India- Farmer, Clouds, Rains and Trees The Farmer was thinking, While sitting near his fields, How, he would plant, The saplings of Dhaan ( Rice). The clouds keep coming, But fly away and vanish soon, There are hardly few trees in the forest, Who can call and attract the clouds. To tell the clouds, The miseries of the farmer, As, clouds never overlook, The wishes of their beloved trees. But the trees could not convey and tell, The tortures and pains, they have suffered, One by one they have been cut and burned, By none other than their own nursing Man. Because of this only , The clouds often do not come, And run away without showering, When they see such humans. The Farmer was thinking, While sitting near his fields, How without rains he would plant, The saplings of Dhaan ( Rice). But that old farmer, Had planted many many trees, Thinking that the clouds, Came down on the ground. The eyes of the old farmer, Were wet and restless, Tears were appearing and were, Coming out, every now and then. The clouds hovering on the fields, Saw tears in his eyes, While wiping his tears, The clouds too began to weep. Then, it began to rain all over, And the fields got flooded soon, The old farmer raised his head, And saw towards the sky. After seeing all around, The fields flooded with water, The farmer with gratitude, Again & again touched the Rain clouds. Tears started flowing from his eyes, With happiness, And the clouds again showered more rains, To wipe the tears from the eyes of the old farmer. Then the time came to plant, The saplings of Dhaan (Rice), Without forests and their darling trees, Clouds hardly showers their love drops. The Farmer was thinking, While sitting near the fields, He would again plant, Many more and more tree this time. Radha's Song- A folk Song of India 2/2

Radha’s Song- A folk Song of India 2/2

Prelude

This folk song is based on the childhood incidents
of naughty 8-10 years old Krishna, who use to
please everyone of Gukul village, Gokul is the
place where the divine Krishna was brought up
by his foster mother Yashoda.

O, Please tell me, what should I do,
Speak a word, to extinguish my worries,
I cannot live, without seeing,
The alluring face of our naughty Krishna.

O, please tell my friend, how should I manage it,
What plea and excuse dear, I can tell in my home,
How to go back to home, without Gagariya and Chunri,
Even without water, which would create only difficulties for me.

Stunned and mesmerized, by the magic of our Krishna,
I stand here only, in a state of being sweetly robbed,
Instead of searching my Chunri and Gagariya, O Sakhi,
I am trying to touch his alluring image only, in the water.

Clarifications:
*Radha. Radha was the childhood friend and was one of the most beloved Gopi of Lord
Krishna. She was the beauty, power and aura create the ethics of love. None of the
scriptures consists of the power to verbalize her beauty, for it is clear enough that when
beauty of Sri Krishna makes several hearts leave their boundaries, her beauty is so
mesmerizing that it makes Him loose consciousness.
*Krishna. Krishna is often depicted as an infant or young boy playing a flute as in the
Bhagavata Purana or as a youthful prince giving direction and guidance as in the Bhagavad
Gita. The stories of Krishna appear across a broad spectrum of Hindu philosophical and
theological traditions.] They portray him in various perspectives: a god-child, a model
lover, a divine hero and the Supreme Being.
*Gagariya. The earthen pot used still in Indian villages to collect water from river, pond
or wells.
* Chunariya. A long strip of cloth to cover the beauty of a woman. It normally hangs on
the bosom to cover them.
Punghat. Is the word used for a place from where water can be collected by village women
of India.
*Sakhi. Hindi word means female friend

Land Of The Desert

Little grows in this famished land,
its sad song eerily carried upon the wind
is seldom heard across a land spurned by nature,
as if,
destined to be laid bare.

However,
an indescribable beauty,
defiant of nature, is evident to those
who take time to witness
what lies before them,
yet remain cautious of the danger
this beauty contrives.

Life survives precariously,
a testament to its resilience,
each day a challenge,
this land of desert
offers safe harbor to none.

A sad song is eerily carried upon the wind,
each verse a warning,
enter this land of desert,
death alone is guaranteed.

Sounds of Three Visitors to My Garden

Early morning, the trill
with a buzz, is weighted toward the beak,
tail twitching, side to side,
underside barred: my friendly wren.

The click in the heavy heat of summer
the bright flame on winter day or hidden in shade
the silent rustle, the graying double,
steady chew, chew, chew, encouraging tweets:
my pair of nesting cardinals.

Nightfall, the flump, flump of wings plop down,
or rise up to say who, who: mourning dove's lament
songs by which to sleep and dream.

A Prayer to Clouds for all My Friends

A Prayer for all my friends in America and all over the World This Prayer Poem is for all my friends of America and for all those anywhere in the world who are waiting for Rains.
I have made this Prayer Poem on My Photo Poem and this can be seen in My Photo page on World Art Foundation This Prayer Poem actually supports my Folk Song ‘Folk Song of India -Farmer, Clouds, Rains and Trees’ placed on You Tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukRQxnYGQwQ&feature=plcp It may be a co incident but ever since I composed and placed the above Song on You Tube the drought like conditions improved in many parts of India drastically. A Prayer to Clouds for all My Friends O Clouds full of Rains Please go to my friend's place Where ever you see the land is dry And all the fields and trees Are waiting for your showers To get wet and to kiss Your ever refreshing Rains. You bless them With your nectar like Rains So their fields too May yield grains And their forests may be blessed With your love drops To again enfold you In their sweet and loving embrace.
O Clouds full of Rains Please go to my friend's place And give them The blessings of Your Beautiful immortal Rains. Ravindra Kanpur India 15th Aug. 2012
NOTE: Draught like conditions (not very acute almost 50% less Rains this year) prevailed in India in July, but after July last it improved in August and even some parts experienced excessive Rains till 27th August. I had composed a Song around 20th July for the Indian farmers as a Folk Song and have placed it in Poetry Soup on 24th July 2012 and on my Music Channel “RavindraKK1” on You Tube as a Folk Song of India. The Song explains the reasons of fewer Rains in the simple language of a farmer telling the story of Farmer, Clouds, Trees and Rains as a Folk Song of India. Ravindra 27th Aug. 2012

An Ode To A Friend

We met in 8th grade...We became great friends and
Years later,

She Dared Me To Write my First Poem January 21, 1948...we were both 16...I on January 9th and she on January 20th same year.

"I bet you can't write the second verse to this poem!" she said to me in sassy manner...

She shoves a note book page to me with a scribble in her handwriting.

The title was "I Love To Dance!"

How absurd I thought, after all, I was a "singer!"

Without hesitation I took the paper and began to write..."I'd love to be held close in your arms where only I could share all your charms..."

I followed with a few more line of "poetic bliss", to my thinking, and her respone was..."How did you do that?"

I replied, hands on hips, "Well you wrote the first so I wrote the second!"

Eloise replied in evident astonishment, "Girl, mine was from a song sheet!"
We fell out laughing as any 16 year olds would do.

Of course, I've written thousands of poems since then and I often say, "It's like breathing to me!".

My friend Eloise will be laid to rest tomorrow, March 16, 2013...Such a sad song for me. We stayed in touch over the years and often still laughed about that dare for me to write a second verse...Who knew?!

Cynthia
My heart is filled with the sorrow of Eloise's demise
Yet I sing still
