Endless plains
Rolling on
and on forever
Adorned with grasses and wildflowers
When a warm breeze stirs them, a soft hissing sound is
heard as the reeds rub against each other
Scents mingle and tickle the nose in
a delightful manor
One cannot help but smile while in these plains
and to leave these plains requires more effort
than anyone can muster
and causes more pain than anyone
can suffer
Sometimes storms happen in these plains
They tear through parts of it,
leaving deep gashes
in the ground
Ripping the beautiful flowers
up by their
But the soil is rich there,
and everything always grows
It always has,
and always
In the endless plains, that are my love for you

I am very happy to have been able to read your poetry today Rachel. I do not have a lot of words to comment on it but I want you to know I did read it. Every poem as with every poet has a different meaning and I do not wish to misinterpert your poetry. I do love reading poetry here and I get inspiration from others poetry which enables me to write new poetry myself. There are lots of wonderful people who give great comments here and I hope they all read your poetry and comment. Love, Carol

Wonderful..the endless plains metaphor as love..and the visual component is gripping,,the storms of love leaving deep gashes.. Thank you for your beautiful poem Brenda
