Melancholy Memory

White is her color
Freckles dotting pale skin
of a young teenager
Big sister

White is the collar
topping her blue dress that
matches sleeping eyes of
my sister

White is youth’s color
she said once when I cried
to be like her be the
big sister

White are fresh flowers
daisies and carnations
Roses never suited
my sister

White is her casket
Color of purity
Angels gently enfold
my sister

wow, Montery, for a first poem I've read of yours, I REALLY like this a lot. I love how you kept the theme of white going through it . Very well developed poetry. A FAVE, best one I saw so far tonight.

Beautiful written! I didn't know her, but I feel like I did with all the references to white. It's very well crafted writing... I'm only sorry for the inspiration. I'm sure she would love this tribute you wrote for her!
