It was an onyx night as I slept
heavily. Only silence in the midst
of my dreams. I heard nothing as
I slept only to awaken to an open
window and my laptop and Ipad gone.
I assume an expert, because I never
woke up. For two days I was terrified
and couldn't go home. New wrought
iron grills fill my windows, large black
grills on each door. I'll never feel safe
again even though the intruder did no
bodily harm. The police came and went
leaving nothing but finger print dust on the
walls and floors. I don't want to move but
now feel imprisoned, and far from safe.
