Does it really matter

Does it really matter?

Does it really matter?
What you’ve done, or what you’ve been
Or whether you be special
{Whatever that word means}
Whether you see one hundred
Or live for an hour or so
One day the ‘Reaper’ he will come
And off with him you’ll go.

Does it really matter?
Whether you be Prince, or king
Millionaire or pauper
It doesn’t mean a thing
He’ll have no sympathy for you
That one who’s dressed in black
One day it will be time for you
To make that final act

Does it really matter?
That each must turn to dust
This be the way it’s always been
So in it you must trust
Relax and let the river flow
Then what will be, will be
You’re born alone, you’ll die alone
This be how things must be.

No Peter, It doen't really matter. I think Vera put it down nicely my friend, the only thing that matters is that you keep puttting your wonderful writes down. We are born, we live, we die. You ask the one question I've never thought of asking and now I ask it of myself. You are a poet my friend, you write from your heart always, your soul takes flight in your words. Long may your words grace the Soup my friend. Have a good day. Catch you later. Your Friend always....MIKE.

Thank you Michael. When you look back on it all, what really matters. You live and then you die, and you owe it to yourself to have a happy life. I don't believe in death anyway, my find. Just another door, another story, And what wonderful stories we create. Thanks for your kindness in commenting, my friend....Peter

Peter I guess we must make the best of things we can't change the end of the story. But maybe how we get to the end is what matters. Nice job.

This is so very true Joseph, something deep within tells me there will be many stories after this one, all of them to be enjoyed. Thank you for your kind comments, my friend....peter

When they found Troy it was buried under 10 different cities that had come and gone, where I live will one day be under water and no one will ever know that once someone lived here not even the fish that will float over my dead body

We are so afraid of death that we invent religions, philosophies and everything to soothe, our frightened minds, And yet death is such a natural thing. Acceptance is all that is needed. then wisdom comes. thanks for your comments Frederic. You must have done a lot of soul searching too ....peter
