The Real Reason Poems are Pushed Off the List Quickly - Richard D Seal's Blog

Years ago a poem would just trickle down the list because poets rarely posted more than one a day, some only two or three a week and there were less poets. Now as PS has grown there are more poets, posting many more poems than ever before. In this area of listing PS has become a victim of its own success.

     Let's look at why poems fall down the list so quickly .               Poet A posts one poem, poet B posts ten poems, poet A is now in position eleven , poet C posts ten poems , poet A is now in position twenty one ,     Now, as has been suggested to solve the problem we should compress each poem from four lines to two. We do that , so what position is poet A in now. Still position twenty one. Compressing the poems doesn't change the numbers .  If poets B and C had posted one poem each then poet A would be in  position  three , so it follows that the more  poems posted on top of poet A the quicker poet A falls  down the list . It's that simple.  
 

After recent debates on this issue PS reduced the number from ten to five, which seems to me a fair compromise .   No offence is meant to anyone in regard to this post, just trying to set the issue straight.   Take care, Richard.
