Redemption

Oh, for the day that love found me. Oh, for the day that love found me Cupid fired and raised a wave It dressed me in insanity Took away, more than it gave Reason went, he could not stand The wild thoughts of my mind No longer was he in command No reason could he find Soon after, Sight, he marched afar His eyes could see no more Beyond the beauty that you are The love that I adore Then Hearing too no longer fought The shop, he shut, he closed Of telling me what others thought And, what they supposed Emotion was more lenient For he had changed his tack With urges disobedient He placed me back on track And teacher Time did fair me well To spend my life with you He kept me under cupid’s spell And showed me what is true So, for the day that love found me All that I can say Along with this insanity Gave more than took away. Superb creativity the way you've used insanity as the metaphor for a "soulmate" . Amazing. All the lines are magnificent but the end is really my favorite.

You seemed to have been on a very up-and-down journey, my friend. Each little stanza was like a little life lesson that you learned from. When love finds you, you feel your freedom slipping away... but then with time you feel MORE free to do the things that really matter. I felt all the chemicals kicking in Richard, while reading your lovely poem of "redemption". I'm going to start from the bottom up. After all the ending is what I enjoyed the best. -The way love took over and added on to the sanity. lol, isn't that what love is. .JK. I love the way love found you, and gave you more than you had before sanity was only a word with no (IN) in it.. LOL :-) This was a nice Redemption poem, I enjoyed the way you went from only YOU and involved it all into something and someone else. Love is, nice when God, gives you that one person for the rest of your life. My parents have been under cupids spell till this very day. This is a very sweet poem. thanks for the swift story of true loves meaning found between the lines in your poem... always~ LINDA
