The Muffin and the Cupcake

The Muffin and the Cupcake

Little miss muffin was resting one day
When a cute little cupcake came looking her way
The gaze he held, was saying one thing
I'm coming over to pull apron string

She blushed an blustered and turned all coy
But couldn’t resist the touch of the boy
Was this the mix she had waited for
Since she had sprung from the old oven door

He ambled over, his eye on her crest
He touched her side to physically test
He needed to see she was not a mirage
For he was battered by beauties barrage

He felt the warmth that swelled from her heart
And swore that day that they’d never part
He said, “My darling, with me will you run
I’ll take you a ride and we will have fun

For you are my muffin and I’m your cupcake
And nothing will sunder the bond that we make”
She took, his word, their lips came to meet
Was there ever before, kisses tasting so sweet

The last I heard, they had run away
And merrily danced in their love so they say
So muffin or cupcake, next time you eat
You may have destroyed, but their love not defeat.

Came back to a food poem of yours after your comment about my food blog. Yep, I love tasty food!! But believe me I am counting my calories every single day and keeping them below 1,800. Sometimes easier said than done!!

I adored this zany poem you crafted... especially the part about "apron string".. for whatever reason you made it sound like it was dirty or something. I had no idea I could very well be eating lovers all these years... *grabs another cupcake*... nope! Still doesn't stop me!... he he he...

this kind of reminds me of Jack & Jill, the love version. LOL, Richard, more than thoughts are pouring out of my mind at this moment. That is how it happens. You know the question you asked:-) I am clueless, until proven guilty--- I got one thing to say before I leave. ''The dish ran away with the spoon.'' hehehe. Try that for a fiddle, when someone's enjoying a nice sweet kiss. xox~ Linda

To be honest Eileen, if the mind is not attractive, the rest is completely immaterial, and if the mind is attractive, the rest becomes beautiful, no matter what.

Oh...my mom loved that story...I started it, but didn't finish it. Now you're tempting me to give it another rid. Yes...meddlers are such a nuisance...I thought your last couple of lines are lost in the yumminess of what comes before so, thanks for the emphasis.

My other comment landed in PDs lap dunno why that sometimes happens, I was aiming this write more at those that interfere with love relationships. Thoughts of Lorna Doone.
