In Response To the Poem If
In Response to the Poem If
If you can keep your head
Whilst I am losing mine
If you cannot see red
But tell me all is fine
If your dreams about my future
Are not as I foresee
Not bend your mind to torture
And let me fly out free
If I should climb to high and fall
Or play the fool as young un’s do
Be chastised for risking all
For doing just the same as you
If you can talk to others and equally to me
Remembering the life you’ve lived and had
If when you read this, I’m sure you will see
You’ll be a father, and much more, you’ll be a Dad.
