My Words Are Safe

I know my words are safe with you
They flow from my heart tried and true
I have nothing to fear
You will protect and not harm me
For my beauty is what you see
To my heart you are near

I’m free to expose how I feel
You cherish what you know is real
I flourish with your praise
I’m not careful of what I write
I know the truth you’ll bring to light
My thanks to you I raise.

I really liked your rhyming scheme you used for this write, very effective I thought for what you were trying to convey! I really enjoyed reading what you have written here my friend! What a lovely sentimental poem! Great Work!!

My very first one, Russell. I'm determined to try new forms and spread my wings! :) Thanks for your comment. I know you've given others pointers before and so this post means doubly much to me that you think it is good! I'm happy.

I think you and Tim have said it all on this one.

Richard, I've been there...finally healing. A bit cautious still, but this poem was about someone with whom I can joke around and be silly and tease and not worry about whether I went too far or said the wrong thing. That means an awful whole lot to me. I know you understand. You're good with that! :)

Finding that someone is the difficult part, putting your trust in them even more so, sometimes even your closest fail to understand. Have been bitten a few times myself. I see a doubt in your reply to Becca, I don't see why, your write speaks volumes and I shall continue to shower praise on my Desert Orchid. Unless you write a load of crap lol. You can be sure I'll let you know lol

Is that so, Richard? You are quite frugal with your praise tonight.

I think everyone needs to have a person like this. Someone you can just talk to without fear they will exploit you, blackmail you (or even just flat out criticize you). I only really know of one person (that I know IN person) that fits this description.

Sometimes when I'm excited my fingers go faster than my brain. It happens to the best of us... lol.

I'm glad you have someone, Timothy. It's really important. Sometimes you say just what's on your heart because you feel you'll be understand and then....well, let's just say that it winds up scarring you for life. :( I often wish I'd kept my mouth shut...or kept my fingers idle...I'd have saved myself some heartache! We live and learn, don't we? ;)
