Born in Mauritius in 1950, I am holder of a Bachelor`s Degree in Economics from the University of London, a Diploma in Banking from the Institute of Bankers, Lombard, and a postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration an Management.
After a short span as officer in the Mauritian Civil Service, I joined the Bank of Mauritius in 1970, where I worked as bank officer successively in various departments of the Bank. In 1979, I again joined the Civil Service , this time in the capacity of Administrative Officer and was posted at the Economic Intelligence Unit (later restyled as Budget Bureau) of the Minnistry of Finance. I gradually moved up the ranks to Principal Budget Officer, Assiatant Director and to Director, Public Finance in 2000. I occupied the post of Financial Secretary from January 2005 to October 2006 and was General Manager of a public power producing company between 2006 and 2008. Afrter my early retirement from the Civil Servicei in 2008, my services were enlisted in February 2009 as Financial Adviser in the finance ministry, functions which I still carry until the present day.
I published a collection of poems "Between Earth and Sky " in 1976 and another one "From Humannism to Spirituality" in 2021. I am in the pocess of publishing a further collection of poems "Spirituality and Beyond" and a poem book " Sir Anerood Jugnauth - The Life and Legacies of a Great Soul", which is dedicated to our late Prime Minister and President..
