Intrusive Thoughts
Lost in midst of a dense forest
Winding my way amidst tall trees,
Lonely in dark, gasping for breath,
In vain seeking for a light lea
With thorny thickets on my way
I yearn for sunshine of the day.
The gurgling croaks of cheeky crows
Invade the silence of the night
From their seats atop leafy boughs
Sending down my ribs bursts of fright
With doubts stifling my swollen soul
And spinning my spirit with cold.
Lost in a forest at late night
A stream of thoughts pervades my mind:
Am I treading the path that`s right?
The essence of life can I find?
Am I pursuing seemly goals?
Can I scan substance of my soul?
Such thoughts oft filled my dreams at night
At times glued my mind in daytime
Like mildews scourging plants with blight
Still lingering until bedtime
Leaving a strong vinegar smell,
What It augured I could not tell.
Lost in a thick forest of thoughts
Pervasive and so intrusive,
In a web I felt being caught,
With frontiers so much elusive
Ever shifting beyond the reefs,
Standing on a slippery cliff.
Plagued by thoughts too hard to face
Erewhile intruding in my life,
Now with a cheer I can embrace
Without much ado, without strife
As ripened with the sands of time
I value more the inner shine.
