Deprived of Your Love
Deprived of Your love since the dawn of time
O Lord, I wander in wild wilderness
As as I committed a villainous crime
That ignited the fire of Your wildness.
Seduced by a sly slithering serpent
I yielded to charms of the outlawed fruit,
My mind turned to a welter of torment
Urging me my burning feelings to suit.
Now ejected from Your sacred garden
I roam in forests of desolation
With thirst, hunger, fear and despair smitten,
Without any dim hope for salvation.
I have to fight against beasts of all kinds
For survival of the very fittest
Against wilful wild winds and rains combined
Against snow frost, cold as never witnessed.
At times I have to battle with my kind
To pinch, plunder and pocket nature`s gift
Without any twinge or an axe to grind
And often with my own peers to wedge a rift.
At last drawn down with deadening despair
At Your shrine I pray for Your forgiveness
For Your leniency, mercy, love and care
As sinful son to Father with kindness.
Filled with the shining light of compassion
Moved by the milk of mercy, as Father
You launch to earth Your only divine Son
To teach every man to live as brothers.
Though nailed on the cross from His head to toes
Your Son forgives the shrewd sly scornful hands,
Though flagged and stamped with sores on His body
He absolves those who spike a divine man.
Now I am turning over a new leaf,
Repent and cleanse my soul life after life
Wipe my self tainted with the tan of towering grief
And scour my spirits soiled with seams of strife.
