Is there a time when wrong is right?
In self defense we justify
Then toss with conscience in the night
To know within ourselves we lied.
Is there a time when pain is thrown,
To hurt, to scar, then walk away
Without the consequences known -
Leave them to mourn another day.
We all have struck with careless words
But then in doubt we feel their pain;
Lamenting sympathy deferred
In our quest for selfish gain.
    When in our hearts we were wrong
    And we knew it all along.

    This perhaps the best poem you have written. The truth is spoken well in your poem. Straight forward and to the point. No need for digging deep in is a plain as it can get. The next task for you is to fix what is wrong and make it right. Confession is good for the soul and it takes someone as bold as you to make it known. Thanks for this poem.

    You bring up a very good point. Had a discussion like this in my philosophy class the other day. The way you expressed the sentiments through poetry was exceedingly brilliant. Love your work! Always, Laura
