Why the Mockingbird Sings

Romantic hedge, the wilderness caller
stacks his post in city or the trees
singing freely both night and day imagining
a mate to recognize his calling.
(One who speaks a second language
likes to speak that language even though
it maybe in the middle of the night...)
Hundreds of different songs flow
from this mighty chest freely imitating
many different birds to post an alert
for the possibility of amour.
For love, sings the mockingbird
stronger than most to profess his
talented good looks and fortune.
