What's the use of questions

What’s the use of questions?

We ask a thousand questions
But what good can that do
Cause every single question
Does start another new
In truth, it’s all a mystery
You'll find this in the end
The only certainty is you
This message I do send.

We ask the reason why we’re here
And ask from where we came
We speak of what the good books say
And play religions games
We put priests on a pedestal
As if they really know!
And talk of Heavens, and of Hells
And make our wild fears grow.

And yet we never look within
And see the truths therein
We never look beneath the layers
Of all the minds dull din
Now if we took that little stride
We might find truth in this
‘Never born, we’ll never die
We be eternal bliss’.

I grew up religious and used to question things as a child...I no longer do...I guess faith took this piece from you, it speaks volumes, beautifully! hugs

this is such a great outlook, Peter. Though I come from a religion that professes to know answers, I guess I do not have enough faith to trust in that. I can only trust in my own feeling that there is a creator and that our souls never die. what becomes of them after this life. I used to think I knew. but I have grown addicted to stories of real hauntings on tv, and I sure hope most of us get beyond that stage!!! I like to think we will be with our loved ones who already passed.

Hi Andrea. I was born a Christian, but I have come to the conclusion that the only ones who can know the truth are those who search deep within for the answers.I find that religious people all have doubts deep within.. This is only my opinion of course, So I could be wrong. I really do appreciate you intelligent comments, my friend. You sound to me like a very deep thinker, and I admire this...Peter

Very great piece Peter whereas the truth lies within. Such a melodic flow of question combined with your well sought wisdom. Words to take to heart.

Peter, I like it. I do agree with you that the answers are never to be known. I also apologize for being off site for so long. I can't explain why, but I just didn't have the heart to logon for a while. It was a loss for me. Thank you for being here and have a wonderful time going forward.

Hi Duke, how wonderful to see you on my pages. each must do what their heart tells them what to do. Once a poet always a poet, we always come back. I stopped writing for three years once when some guy told me my writing was Shite. Thank you for your kind comments, my friend. Your comments inspired me so much when I first came onto this site. I thank you for that, have a wonderful new year...Peter

Wow! This hits my uncertainty. This is something I could go back to when life's in peril of questions. Thanks for this one, Peter. Enjoy your family time this brand new year!

Hi Wendy, thank you so much. No matter how much of a believer one is. there is always doubt. it is a question of self enquiry. looking within at ones own silence. Then all doubts are gone. I appreciate your comments, my friend. Have a wonderful new year....peter
