Transcendence: Religion is obsolete

By eliminating the middleman, we come closer to being one with God 04.14.2013 Ok, it's time to change themes for a while, because it's tic-tac-toe, 4-in-a-row! +/-

WOW! Love this one...and yes, we don't need a middle man! :) Chris, PK's are always rebellious! ;) The dogmas are tough to swallow. Remember, Jesus was a revolutionary of his time, "You have heard it said...but I say..." Religion I have a problem with, spirituality is another matter. I'm just glad God is more merciful than we can ever imagine. No labeling in heaven. Some will be there who don't even adhere to any religion but have lived according to dictates of their consciences. God is good.

One of the central tenets of Protestantism, but clearly more honored in the breach than in the observance. Nice!

Religion was created by man. Truth and simplicity at its finest. Elaine

Hulo Chris..I do agree with part of your anology..Though many times i find God through the middle men women i meet religious and non religious..the closer i am to God is when Its just me and him..when tbere is no need off middle-man.Sometimes i am at peace with him..other times i battle with him..curse him...and love him.I'm glad God blessed me with friends like you..and otbers her e...a vivid way of love from Him to me..these middle men are precious to me..

Hi Chris, Thank you for your kind comments this morning on my poetry, it is in three parts, probably because it's three different poems...alll having one theme. LOL About the 'he' reference, my personal belief is that God is Spirit, having no gender at all, yet encompasses the qualities of both masculine and feminine qualities. Speaking of God, as he, is just for simplicity sake. LOL :) hugs, Catie :)

If the poem is there, let it out. If it has to be pulled out screaming, leave it for a bit. :) I LOVED this one. Even though it isn't completely my philosophy, I still really was moved by it. I think because you used a simple form to slam home how simple faith can be (?) Hey, I mentioned you (;) Kinda) in my poem IT. When I'm wrong, I say I'm wrong. I am starting to see your point that poets (hmm. artists in general?) are not so much honed as born. Nette is back! Her "It" factor woke me up.

Are you trying to brake the intermediary chain to salvation? (usually known as tithes) : D There is no two without three (nor four without five!). Keep them coming.

This is so powerful with such short words... how do you do it?! Haha, I am impressed! You certainly have the mark of a talented poet. :) Hugs!

Amen, indeed...(I am sure you are contemplating some interesting prayer-positions, my Love :P) Until there is actual, observable change, this topic will re-surface again and again...the middleman extends far beyond religion into much of the collective human psyche. Who is God, really?
