Time goes on

This fleeting sense of loss I have, grows stronger every day
Everything I know has changed, only memories have stayed

That house where we spent half our lives, playing on the floor
Their daddy died, their mom moved out, no one lives there anymore

Those friends that we grew up with, we saw then every day
They all moved on, they all let go, they all went on life's way.

My grandpas passed, my grammas passed, I'm standing all alone
I'm full of questions with no answers since the wise ones were called home

If I could go back for a day, and stand in those old shoes
Oh how it would be different, oh the words that I would chose.

Indeed, "Tempus Fugit"....and "Carpe Diem" -- we must seize the day! Well expressed, wistful litany of regret.
