Theft of Time

Time ravenous with seconds consumed.
Helpless moments of mortality's doom.
Age yet another monster to tame,
Wrinkles flagellate mar and maim.

Ebbing on a journey through time,
Dusk resounds with a labored chime.
Avaricious hands creep and crawls
A perpetual clock never stalls

Existence through each passing realm,
As a ship streams, fate at the helm.
Smearing destruction upon the mortal face,
Conquered, barred from youth's grace.

The residue of maturity stains,
Filching vibrato from tainted remains
In wakes of an enfeebled breath,
Sparing none for a timely death.
