The White Ape

There is a story that hails from
The jungles of the African Congo
Where the gorillas nest at and call their home
There was once a certain protector

Of one family group of gorillas
He was not really a silverback
But an ape of an all-white hair
He protected all the females and their young

With a very ruthless kind of protection
Whenever a predator or human got near
Of any of the females or young
He would not only protect them

From the many predators and humans
But he would injure them very badly
Sometimes he would even kill them
It depended on how he felt

Nobody, not even the greatest animal experts
Knew why he behaved this way
Just the fury in his eyes
Was all that the few survivors could remember

All the known soldiers and poachers
Of every nation in the world
Wanted to hunt him, stuff him, or send him to a zoo
But I believe they will never kill or locate the white ape
