The String and The wind--Revising

                                  Kite flying with the wind
the tight string resists no more.
                                  From above the clouds
without the string, the same wind
leads it floating to the ground

One of the poets on this site who has helped me over the past year to develop into a better writer? There are many!...Andrea, Charmaine, Carrie, Carolyn, Charles, Chris, Brian, Deborah, Linda-Marie, Nikko...Im sure Im forgetting many of them! Thank you all of you for your constant support and inspiration.

Ruben, I enjoyed this. You may inspire a tanka out of me. I studied your first line and without my permission, the words twisted in my mind. The kite is flying the wind. Hugs, Cyndi Is it okay that I try to start with that? Let me know, please.

All that goes up must eventually come down but a kite in the air was a thrilling thing for me as a child. Thanks for the memories Ruben. So nice?!

ruben, I went back and saw that at the very end of her rules. I could not believe I missed it. I had entered an oldie, so I found it and put a dedication on it. I hope they have not counted me out of the contest already. thanks for your poem reminding me!!

So at my blog, you have NO food that you would not try hard to find it if it was going to be gone forever?

Ruben, I am noticing several poets who are thanking members at the bottoms of their poems. Is it something the contest is asking for? Or is this out of the goodness of your heart? You are so sweet to mention my name among this list. These are all terrific poets!! I just love this tanka too. If it were my contest, it would get a win for sure.

It's as if im reading this, in a school theater art class.. Expressing myself, with my hands... And at the end I repeat myself twice... Letting everyone feel the perfect emotion as everything comes to a wind down.... A very refreshing adrenaline landing... Calm and peaceful... Enjoyed reading..pd.

Ruben-O-vich! You just penned a tanka using repetition in the 4th line....and it has a smashing effect. Very cool to see! Hmmm, I have often used repetition in poems, but never in tanka form. Now you have me thinking about it. Excellent, comrade :D

Winds are so unpredictable, Ruben. Like the way you have the kites fling above clouds and dreams (sounds heavenly), but it's always sad when they go back to the ground. Best wishes in the Kite contest, dear friend. I'll be passing through S. Florida next weekend (4/13). Wish you could join me on my Key West fishing trip. Consider yourself invited! Love, Carolyn
