The matinee

Remember the Sunday matinee
With popcorn, pop, and cracker jacks
A dark cool theatre with movie screen
A front row seat where we'd relax

I pine for those nostalgic days
Days we got fresh milk by truck
The matinee was ten cents then
Probably now more than a buck

I am at the bottom of page one of forms. I have seen all the ones on that page now!! Just now saw your comment back to me on high prices. Yes, one day we will look back on today's prices and think we had it quite good.

Do you really want to know today's matinee cost? it's 6.50 here in Utah and probably 8 dollars for a matinee in other places! Oh, for the good old days. I sure am enjoying your poems. I wonder how many I have been missing.

Wow, $6.50 I haven't been to a matinee for many many years. My how things have changed. I don't know if I will be about to afford retirement if prices keep going up the way they have. can you imagine paying $20.00 for a gallon of milk or 50.00 for a fallon of gas. it will be crazy if prices get that high.
