The Image I See Haunts Me

Your eyes can be tricky and see
things that are not meant to be
Surprising you into a shock
Something your mind needs to block
Like the day I saw your lips
Softly kissing fingertips
On someone new in your life
Sneaking around on your wife
That gave her entire heart
Making sure right from the start
There's no reason for this action
Making sure your satisfaction
Is provided day and night
Never knowing that this sight
In front of my teary eyes
Was covered by sneaky lies
With every word and loving act
Causing me not to react
With suspicion you were cheating
Now my broken heart is beating
With broken and lonely pieces
My happy life no longer ceases
To exist--now all I see
Is that horrid memory
Of your love with another
Scenes flashing and start to smother
Every day I once shared
With someone who never cared

Nice write, and well written Robin. you are so good with your rhyme and flow. It's a shame that so many folk break the hears of others....Peter

I like this. You used your rhyme to it fullest, and I am always happy to see rhyming poetry. Cheating. Sometimes I think it should be made a capital offense, right up there with murder, for it destroys peoples lives and some of them never recover.
