The humble poet

Its sounds began to call me name at a young age
And then the mighty pen opened the stage

One evening my worthy heart shaped its tales
From iron thoughts I bellowed the details
I found a place I could be me
Where the wind grew and birds flew free

I forged for years and brought forth my work
To contests of many even in times of murk

Now I knew I had so much to learn
So night after night the midnight oil I did burn

Oh how it stirred my heart an moved my soul
If only someone would enjoy my words before I grew old

Now I still gush my words to places of many
With my computer of speed leaving the paper and pen to envy
