The Darkness At Noon

Tears shadow my eyes but do not drown the thunder as I slay my friend ! ... He will perish by my sword, but will thank me for his freedom How oddly my world will deafen me with honor! A gladiator... with a badge of irony, and a defeated spirit The blazing sun dims, and seems to eclipse all time... I am not afraid... as the sound of cheering fades, and earth moves in slow motion For no one can win Our only salvation is becoming the prey, instead I now see dust rise... as dark drops of my own blood, small puffs of my life..... at long last free me from doom to enter darkness of noon
