the damsel of my heart

beauty is the damsel of my heart
i imagine her
to be a crocus opening petal-by-petal
at the the start of spring
she is in
the doting eyes of two fated hearts
that close when they're kissing
i see her
in every shimmering star at night
even if the clouds cast their net
she is the
glowing scales of a mackerel sky
over the ocean at sunset
i hear her
every morning in the music sung
by the white-crowned sparrows
she is the
dandelion snow falling
from the sun in a meadow
i feel her
in the whisper of silken blonde hair
of an angelic newborn baby
she is in
the crowns of fairytale princesses
made of radiant rubies
i smell her
in the purple lilacs scent carried
through the spring wind
she is where
the earth melds into glass
and where the heavens begin
i taste her
in the dew in the morning air
when i first step outside
she is the
only drop in the ocean
that swims against the tide
