That night

That night I walked in on you I saw your hands folded as you prayed,
you couldn't see me because in the dark hall I satyed,
It was the dead of the night and for years you had been ill,
It was then you uttered the words that made me see how you feel.
You said " Father please take this pain away, I want to come home..."
I stood there a little longer taking in what you force your self to moan,
Then there stood a heartbroken daughter, oh the awakening I felt.
So I returned to my room and beside the bed I knelt.
"Dear God please take Daddy's pain away, Take him home with you, I will be okay."
I cried myself to sleep that night, and I lost you the next day.
I know there is a God and he had mercy on you,
And i know I'll get to see you when my time is through.

I am "moved" to tears at the sadness in your words, yet it holds so much love and beauty, you painted a picture of "unconditional love "in your poem, well done~~
