A self-pity walk counting railroad ties,
Low and behold something caught my eyes.
A fragile little flower nestled in between,
the weathered wooden railroad seam.
it stood so proud along the rail,
against all odds, soft petals frail.
I ponder to myself how my life reflects
This fragile little flower standing in the cracks.
Staring down a barreling hell-bound train,
Through the threat of being a railroad stain.
I spend too much time thinking how it should be,
while this little flower's so much stronger then me.
Willing to survive against all things odd,
Pondering too often if there is a God.
and me, with my spoiled tantrum, when life doesn't go my way,
This courageous flower is telling me, to live life for today.
