Soulless Heart

Tis a useless soul doth existence ignore
Whose life endeth afore it beginneth,
This wounded flesh which yet walloweth
Midst tempest fierce ne'er ending woes,

As darkness swoons this sinner’s heart
Death’s hidden shroud doth awaiteth,
Nakedness desperate cries in wilderness
Feign innocence against inward foes,

Such inner strife doth not strain peace
Tho’ suffering’s dire festering sore
Bringeth forth misery’s biddable change
Yet reigneth o’er intercessory prayer

Till freedom’s blind choices promised
Doth sheddeth sin’s calloused scales
Weaketh knees yet boweth down artful
Needless tears thy heart canst bear

Foolishly mired in graceless hope
In answer to Hade’s fervent call
Upon which this soulless heart
Beyond forgiveness veil bestowes
