Snoring snoring snoring snoring
Tossing and turning and wide awake
Sound I hear my soul lies shaking
Ears are humming, life at stake

Snoring snoring every night
My mind keeps thinking how to stop
Can i set things back to right
Before my brain decides to pop

A voice I hear inside my head
Her snoring causes me such dread
A buzz saw slicing my heart red
The voice will save me from being dead

A pillow will make it go away
Lingering voice is very right
Think of sleep to come your way
When silence comes to you this night

I take my pillow and quietly stand
And cover a struggle then ensues
Thrashing kicking beat like a band
Now quiet peace my life renews

Looking upon her lifeless eyes
Kissing cold lips and saying good night
Laying in bed I give a big sigh
Quiet at last, and now sleep tight

I love the casual darkness. A great and unexpected crescendo. The ending verses were like a hook. A sharp one. I love a good hook.

Rick, wow, a scary thought. I'm happy I don't snore or I don't think I do. Insomnia can, can cause fearful actions. I wouldn't want to be your bed partner. You've provoked many thoughts for the reader. But isn't that what poetry suppose to do? Warm Trembling, Smiles, Connie

Wow, that is quite the fearful write my friend! Your poem brings me chills with the terror the person brings to his wife (or girlfriend), such thoughtlessness and cold feelings of horror he brings! I love the scariness that you bring to the limelight, is this for the contest? I believe you would do quite well in this contest! What a tremendous piece, Great Work!!
