Questions To Ask A Winter's Sky

A mere speck, that I am, beneath a stardust sky
Embraced by the night, and cool damp grass
The heaven above, looming dark and wide
While my head fills with millions of questions to ask

My own small world, looms with a million demands
How foolish they seem in the scheme of all this
What lies far this universe grand
And how do I matter ....why do I exist?

One shooting small star...then another comes close
Soon disappearing into where I don't know
Burning a hole in the blackness of space
Leaving behind stars scattered in grace

Another star falls, in a firestorm so bright
Leaving an imprint within my insight
Of the endless wonders we usually ignore
No answers to questions, we'll have evermore

I will look to the sky where my answers now lie
The heavenly comfort that hovers thereby
Oh, the mystery that lies in the vast Milky Way
Perhaps there are answers, we may find them some day

The white ice that blazes all over the sky
Leaves a trail that has purpose, ...............and so do I

Nice spin on the stardust theme. I always have been facinated by stars and the milky way. Good that you have a purpose; so many poets here seem to neglect that in the ending.
