Phoenix die Phoenix fly

Darkness is your friend
If this were untrue you would not reside with it
You switch on the light in mutiny
A 10 watt bulb dimly lights your open wounds

Renaissance is bravery unfolding
A phoenix rises out of the ashes
Chains cut, free from captivity

We all die and then fly
So Ride high with scars wide

We get stabbed and stab back; we learn from it
We stab out and get stabbed; we learn from it
Drills brain, gives pain, we know dark and lived in it

The light is not contrived
It’s not about winning but all about giving
Collect the ashes; blow them gently to the winds?
Then give them the chance to rise to the sun?

A heart should be an open page
We can fuel it with love or discard it to rage.

Possibly one of the best pieces of writing I've read on here!! And I really mean that! Every word is heavy and meaninful! Truly profound!! - Kyle
