Patradoot or The Messenger 9/Many

English version by
Ravindra K Kapoor

You would witness the earth, burning with heat,

Due to extreme temperatures, running in summer,

It would remind you, the agonies of our farmers,

Who work under such torturing weather.

How the farmers continue to grow their crops,

While working under the scorching summer flames,

Bearing the tortures of excessive heat,

Since ages like a solid rocks of earth, dear.

Transliteration of Hindi poem in English- Patradoot or the Messenger.

Grisma Tap Se Tapit Dhara Ke,

Drishya Samene Aayenge ,

Krishak Jano Ke Grisma Vyatha Ka,

Tughako Dhayan Karayenge.

Kaise Agni Karono Me Jul Jal,

Krishak Fasal Upgate Hai,

Sadiyon Se Chhattan Bane Wo,

Sub Kuch Sahte Jate Hai.

Ravindra, I can empathize with the farmers in India, while I lived in Fresno (Calif.) in my youth and growing our own food. It is the raison capital of the world I believe, and that is most likely because the poor grapes dry up on the vine before they can even pick them it is so hot there. A harsh life is related in your father's wonderful poem.

This one will be not so sweet, like the lusting, romancing, and all the beautiful writes you encounter. Ravindra, I love this one so much. It tells you being a famer is no joy. One can say the sun beats on them the most, love it ,..p.d.
