Nowhere Kind of guy

Nowhere kind of guy.

I headed for Australia in the year of sixty seven
I traveled, me on the good Fairsea
And the journey was pure heaven
The sea was wild and stormy
But it never bothered me
For I was off to face my destiny.

Then I became a soldier
And they sent me off to war
As they filled me full of anger
So it was never like before
And so I welcomed manhood
With a soul that had been soiled
As deep within the savage child did boil.

Now I’m a nowhere kind of guy
And I don’t know where I’m going
Cause I decided long ago
That there ain’t no way of knowing
I guess a guy has got to keep on flowing.

Now here I am, and Vietnam
Was way back down the track
And I’ve done some things and I’m carrying sins
And I’ve suffered some way back
I’ve paid some heavy dues and all
And I’ve still got heaps to come
Cause what’s been done’s ,been done all said and done

Written in 1990.

Your emotions here are pretty raw, and yet you have captured them in such a thoughtful, concise way. Well done. I trust that your world is a much better more peaceful place now. Now I have a request, I've been trying to find Kiwi or Aussie poets here who are interested in on going dialogue, can you give me any leads? Have an awesome Silly Season. Scott

I can't really help you with your request my friend. Most folk in my neck of the woods regard us writers with a smirk on their faces .I guess that I am a bit of a loner, and have not much to do with anyone except my close family members... Have a wonderful Christmas scott.....peter

Thank you so much Scott.I consider myself pretty sane now. The Doctor told me that the kind of PTSD we vets get, Can't be cured, but just a little looking within, and self enquiry Has made me more sane than the average.

Thank you Cherie, Luckily I discovered meditation and self enquiry and I consider myself healed now, But there are so many of us leading lonely and miserable lives, who like your dad have never really came home. Thank you for your kid comments on all of my stuff. Have a wonderful holiday period Cheri, and all the best for the new year...peter
