New England

Rocking on the water's tide,
Midnight lazing lullibye ride.
Full moon on the rise,
In velvet chocolate smooth skies.
Jasmine fills the whispering breeze,
Lethargic rustles in the trees.
A wolf howls a lonely tune,
A serenade to the shining moon.
Crickets chirp a tempoed beat,
Tickling rapids trailing feet.
Sweet clover rests between lips,
Fishing pole loose in fingertips.
O I think I have a bite,
Just jump on board, too languid to fight.
low hung sneaky stars within a grip,
a wish made before they slip.
Like fireflies enlightening the bay,
Rocking me to the milkyway.

Dedicated to Craig Cornish here is your spring in New England

Great Poem Lisa. I'm from New England and have spent time on those lakes and rivers fishing and taking it all in as is seen felt and heard in your write. Wonderful and I do like your style. I understand about too languid to fight. Remember keeping the bait about two feet above the water so as not to be disturbed by anything less than a monster. zzzzzzzz
