Never Really Gone

The music of the morning plays
a symphony of dawning days
to fill your heart while I'm away
but never really gone.

A dooryard filled with roses strewn,
ambrosia in the afternoon,
lingering there, a daytime moon -
it's home where I belong.

In evening when you watch the sky
and look upon the stars as I
wish with you and I will try
to be there in the morn.

Then lay you down and go to bed
and dream about what last I said,
then tears will turn to smiles instead,
thinking of the dawn.

Hello, Craig, I'm new here, so I hope it's ok that I comment on your poem Congratulations on your win. I like the way you bring music, the scent of flowers and nature into your poem. I get the impression you both are looking are the sky and stars at the same time and connecting in that way. A beautiful poem.

Ah, but Debbie, it could be a favorite verse that reminded her of the same feelings. Hopefully we can inspire those in the future with our writings.

Very good & so romantic the scroll was a letter! I was very literal I thought perhaps a letter would not be written on a scroll in that time period, I love the poem! Light & Love
