My Valentine Gift

                                                  A simple bouquet
                                                  of promised forget-me-nots
                                                  not to pick petals
For I have given you all
                                                  but few small little flowers

Wonderful bouquet on such a special day,I'm sure the few little flowers would be given throughout other moments ... Sweet poem, somehow with a sad taint tint in it,Pablo Neruda's way.. Awesome poetry once again-Rating? is there a 10 ?:)Charma

Heya Ruben, here is a new post from you - great to see. Ah, there is more to this tanka than first meets the eye. I could interpret it in many different ways, which is another reason why it has poetic merit. It could be a simple, humble gesture of giving flowers, or depending on the reader, it could also be something more bittersweet....a hello and goodbye all wrapped up into one.
